Screenshot of Sedano

Sedano is an open-source macOS desktop app that puts all your coding agents in one app: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Grok, opencode and Command Code, on this Mac or on your own servers over SSH. One transcript, one queue, whichever agent is doing the work. Freebuff, which only has a terminal interface, opens as a terminal tab.

It does not replace the agents: it drives the CLIs you already use, through their own protocols, and a feature an agent does not have is shown as missing rather than faked.

The site has a fully interactive demo of the real interface, running in the browser.

What it does

  • Live subagents: Claude Code's subagents are shown while they work, read from their own transcript on disk
  • Questions and permissions as cards: a permission request or an agent's question becomes the same card, answered in place
  • A prompt is never lost: type while a turn is running and the prompt is queued on disk, then sent when the next turn starts
  • Live limits and cost per agent, where the agent reports them — and "unknown is not zero": no reported cost means no price, not $0.00
  • Terminal tabs backed by real tmux sessions, locally or on an SSH host you enabled, so the work survives closing the app
  • Phone remote: the Mac keeps working and the phone becomes a remote screen, over a private Tailscale network
  • Free and local: Apache-2.0, no account, everything stays in one SQLite file on your Mac

Stack

  • Tauri v2 with a Rust shell for the native macOS app
  • Bun and TypeScript for the local server that drives the agents, with SQLite for storage
  • React for the interface
  • Astro and Starlight for the website and docs, including the in-browser demo
